Smith & Wollensky's - D.C.

This is a chain restaurant that can be found in many large US cities that primarily serves steak and other items al a carte. I was having dinner with friends from MS who made the reservations. Personally I would have never chosen the place to eat, but the reservations were made. They had gotten into town a day earlier and were surprised with the wait time at the good and recommended restaurants.
On a Saturday night, there was no wait and most of the tables were empty. The decor and food were typical. The prices were outrageous. Three of us ordered steak for $30+ each and al a carte items were expensive as well. The food was just OK. All of our steaks were undercooked and my friend who ordered the chicken exclaimed that she could make chicken better (she does not cook). WE were not at all impressed, except with the bill that was over $300 for 4 adults.
Save your money and go to a locally owned DC restaurant, even if it means waiting for a table.
