We went here last Thursday night thinking we would just drive right over and have a relaxing night out to complain about work. NOT, Traffic was horrible and The Standard was packed. So packed after we got arrived, there was actually a wait for a table... on a Thursday. No one seemed to know what was going on and why it was so packed. Around 8 pm it cleared out and the traffic was gone, thank goodness.
As far as the food goes, I was craving meat so i ordered a burger with blue cheese and bacon. It was so good i was ooohhhing and aahhhing as i was eating it. The fries were also cooked well and did not disappoint. I also saw the wings going by along with standard fries ( U fries for those of you familiar with the U Joint) and they looked great as well.
I also love the alcoholic version of Cherry Limeade they create at the bar. Like Sonic only with alcohol!!! The worst thing about The Standard is that people are allowed to smoke inside. So i left smelling like smoke, which is almost unheard of these days in GA.
If you like the U joint but got tired of the bad service, rancid ketchup and dogs everywhere come to the Standard. The service is good, the U fries and wings are the same... but better, the fries are good and there are no kids and dogs. Think U joint with better food, good service and no dogs licking your food.
